Weekly Report 3/12/2010

The rest of this week was spent working in the lab and trying to contact local solar panel places to see if any products could be donated. From here, I'm just waiting for answers back.

Weekly Report 2/22/2010

This week I was planning on working on my press release, but then I received a comment on my blog which informed me that it would not be due until next Friday, March 5th, 2010. This was altered I believe because everyone else has to work on their project. I can't work on my project because I do not have the equipment yet and to be honest, am still not sure what is going to happen with our project. So this week I plan on continuing to do what I had originally planned to do. Today specifically, I worked on formatting my press release and began to think about the introduction more.

Weekly Report 2/19/2010

Weekly Report 2/12/2010

I finally finished my STEMM report and handed it in on Tuesday. We have had off of school due to inclement weather this past Wednesday and Thursday. Today, no one is really here because Middletown has off of school. I am working on contacting my mentors and obtaining materials.

I am still working on my STEMM report. I plan to finish it up either today or tomorrow.

Below is the orthographic of a solar panel. The one that I'm hoping to use is going to be donated by one of the team member's mentors. This drawing shows the dimensions from the top, front and size view.

Weekly Log 1/19/2010

This week is presentations so I will not be blogging because all I will be doing is watching presentations. I present first on Friday.

Exploded Isometric

This is the exploded isometric view of one solar panel. As seen, it is composed of a galvanized steel tray, a colector plate with tubes which in most cases are painted black, a glass support followed by a layer of glass, another glass support followed by a layer of glass and a sealing strip that brings the panel together.

Weekly Log 1/15/2010

Today I have begun my plan of procedures. This means that I am working on my introduction, graphics of my final solutions, raw materials, steps for preparing the raw materials, a list of part required for assembly, all assembly steps, a list of finishing materials and finishing steps. After I finish all of this, I have to work on my STEM reports, which involves all math and science. I also have to scan my pictures and post them into my blog.

Weekly Log 1/14/2010

This week, I have been extremely busy. I have completed my orthographic drawing and my exploded isometric. So hopefully tomorrow I'll scan them in and post them to my blog. I have also kept in touch with my mentor and I am currently working on which solar panels and batteries to use. I have to work on my rendered isometric with color and texture, and then I have to work on my plan of procedures with a supply list, materials list and part list. This will then complete my developmental work. I also need to work on my STEM report, and hopefully finish it by next week, because I believe that's when the presentations for the rest of the class are.

Weekly Log 1/8/2010

This week, I have completed the orthograpic drawings of the solar panel and batteries. After this, I worked on my isometric exploded of the solar panel. This is my current project that I am working on in order to complete my developmental work. It is taking me a while, but hopefully I will be able to finish in time. Also, I have to finish my math and science portion of this project. This is what I'll working on i nthe days coming up.

Weekly Log 1/5/2010

Because our project has been remodeled, from this point on, I am working on my developmental work. This means I have to work on my isometric views, start and finish the material processing, assembly procedures and finalize all the work to be handed in as a grade. Along with this, I'm also trying to get hold of both my mentors and look to gain a solar panel in the midst of it. I also have to work on my isometric views of a solar panel and certain questions that Mr. Alfonse had asked me during our last group meeting/presentation.
